With a box of frozen garlic bread Texas Toast, a jar of marinara, and shredded mozzarella, your air fryer does all the work for you in less than 10 minutes.
These are so easy and good you’ll be thrilled with how fast you can get an after-work “almost pizza” snack ready.
Tips for making Air Fryer Texas Toast Pizza
- This kind of bread comes already buttered on both sides and seasoned with lots of garlic and herbs. This will really make the flavor pop and taste even more like restaurant-style pizza.
- For a crispier “crust,” pop the frozen bread slices in the air fryer for three minutes before adding the sauce, cheese, and toppings.
- At first, it will seem like it’s a lot of pizza sauce, and we tried less but the full ⅛ cup had a nice “this is pizza!” quality under the cheese and pepperoni. If your sauce is thin, I’d recommend just 2 tablespoons of sauce so it doesn’t make your bread soggy.
- Since the surface area is somewhat small, keep in mind that too much cheese or pepperoni can soak through the bread and make it soggy.
- You can also layer different types of cheese, such as cheddar, Parmesan, or goat cheese, so that the total amount of cheese per slice of toast is about ¼ cup max.
- It doesn’t take long for slices of Texas Toast garlic bread to thaw, so don’t worry if it defrosts while you prepare your other ingredients. Just pre-toast your bread with nothing on it for three minutes before adding your sauce, cheese, and toppings.

The trick to keeping your flavorful garlic bread Texas Toast from getting overloaded and soggy is not to use too many greasy or wet toppings. We made this recipe again and swapped out the sausage for sliced meatballs and crumbled cooked bacon. What a hit!
